Timestamp Converter
Convert, interpret, and manipulate temporal data in real-time.
Your Data Never Leaves Your Device
Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored, or logged on our servers.
The Unix Timestamp Converter lets developers translate between the time formats used in programming — Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds, ISO 8601, RFC 2822, SQL datetimes, and readable dates. Edit any field and every other format updates to the same instant, which makes it handy for debugging APIs, inspecting database records, or testing date logic across systems.
Pick any IANA time zone, from UTC to your browser's own, to see the instant as a local calendar date. Changing the zone never changes the timestamp. Use the adjust controls to add or subtract seconds, hours, days, months or years — days and larger units follow the wall clock in the selected zone, so daylight saving changes and month ends are handled for you, and skipped or repeated local times are flagged. It runs entirely in your browser — no data ever leaves your device.
FAQ
Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds, ISO 8601, RFC 2822, a readable English date, an SQL datetime, and a date-and-time picker. Edit any field and all the others update to the same instant.
No. The time zone only changes how the instant is written as a calendar date and clock time. The Unix seconds and milliseconds stay the same. The zone also decides how zone-less input, such as 2024-03-10T09:00:00, is read. ISO 8601 and RFC 2822 values that include an offset (Z, +05:30, +0000) are always taken at face value.
Seconds, minutes and hours add exact elapsed time. Days, weeks, months and years keep the same wall-clock time in the selected zone. In America/New_York, adding 1 day to 2024-03-09 12:00 gives 2024-03-10 12:00, which is only 23 hours later because the clocks jumped forward that night. Adding 24 hours instead lands at 13:00. Adding a month to January 31 gives the last day of February.
When clocks spring forward, some local times are skipped (for example 02:30 on 2024-03-10 in New York). That time is moved forward to 03:30 and a note is shown. When clocks fall back, a local time such as 01:30 on 2024-11-03 occurs twice. The earlier occurrence is used and a note is shown.
No. Unix time and JavaScript dates ignore leap seconds, so a day is always 86,400 seconds long and a seconds value of 60 is rejected.
A current Unix timestamp in seconds has 10 digits (about 1.7 billion), and in milliseconds it has 13. Paste the value into the matching field. Supported instants run from -8,640,000,000,000,000 to 8,640,000,000,000,000 milliseconds, about 271,821 BC to 275,760 AD. ISO 8601, SQL and picker text are limited to years 0000 to 9999.
No. All date conversion logic runs in-browser without uploading your input. Only your chosen time zone is remembered in this browser.
